Cable Termination Structures
Support steel for cable terminations, risers, and underground-to-overhead circuit transitions.
Underground to Overhead
Cable termination structures support outdoor cable terminations—sometimes called potheads—along with riser pipes, clamps, cable bus, and related connection hardware where an underground circuit transitions to overhead conductor or substation bus. The arrangement must preserve the specified phase spacing, cable bend and support requirements, access, and electrical clearances.
These structures are typically developed around approved cable-system and termination-hardware information. SteelCon fabricates the drawing-defined racks, mounting plates, platforms, riser supports, grounding attachments, and anchorage, then match-marks and packages the project-specific assembly for delivery.
Typical Components
- Outdoor termination mounting racks
- Riser pipes, clamps, and support brackets
- Cable-bus support steel
- Platforms, ladders, grating, and guardrails
- Grounding attachments, base plates, and anchorage
