Dead-End Structures

Heavy structural assemblies that terminate incoming or outgoing conductors and transfer line loads to the foundations.

What It Is

A Secure End to Every Conductor Run

Dead-end structures are used where a transmission line enters, leaves, ends, or changes direction at a substation. They carry full-tension or slack-span conductor loads along with the wind, ice, construction, and maintenance loads defined for the project. A-frames are commonly selected for higher line loads or longer spans; H-frames provide a more compact two-column arrangement for moderate-tension or slack-span applications.

SteelCon fabricates the specified A-frame, H-frame, or project-specific dead-end assembly from approved drawings. Columns or legs, conductor beams, bracing, connection plates, base plates, anchor-bolt templates, and loose hardware can be coordinated, match-marked, finished as specified, and packaged by assembly for delivery.
